Q1 What are some of your positive and some of your negative experiences with modern technology?
Most are positive - how did we ever live without cell phones, microwave ovens, digital cameras and computers! I love the auto adjustment seats, windows and mirrors in my car! And the heated/cooled seats!!! Just think, these are just a FEW of the things that have happened since we were kids!
Q2 What are some of your most memorable experiences?
There are so many but a recent one was having my son teach me how to back up the fifth wheel trailer. I suddenly had a flashback to when I was teaching him how to drive! I'm glad I didn't yell at him then and he didn't yell at me nearly 30 years later! The journey of life does take some interesting turns, doesn't it!
Q3 What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?
I love spending time with my family. Whatever we're doing together, it's fun! I am blessed to have a large family - 3 sons, 2 daughters (Dave's children), 11 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters, lots of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews! We love to camp and fish. We love to play Mexican Train dominoes and other board games. And, of course, EAT and just hang out together! My granddaugter plays on a traveling fast pitch softball team and we have lots of road trips to support her and her team. Sometimes we camp and sometimes we stay at motels with a POOL, of course.
Q4 What are some of the major changes in your life?
April 2010 - I lost my husband Dave to kidney cancer after a 3 year battle so I am still adjusting to life as a widow and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I am continually adding to and then editing my "bucket list"! I am so thankful for friends and family that care about me and help me get through the rough times.
January 2011 - I retired from Home State Bank after a 31 year career in the banking profession. I am truly enjoying retirement and am beginning to wonder how I ever had time to work!
Personal narrative 2011:
I am looking forward to our 50th class reunion and sharing it with all of you. I consider myself a very lucky and blessed person to have all of you a part of my history and my life.
