Q2 What
are some of your most memorable experiences?
School Memories: 6th grade. Parents bought Rick Peden's house on Jackson Street. What a neighborhood of great
kids! Billy Fogleman gave me a box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. I couldn't figure out why?
Sophomore year--parents bought restaurant in Tucumcari,
New Mexico and we moved!! I was devastated but we finally moved
back to Loveland after a year.
During my junior year I went steady with Frank Kauffman but broke up when he
graduated.
1962--after graduating from Parks Business School the middle of June, my sister
sent me a one way ticket to Wenatchee, Washington.
I loved Wenatchee and decided to apply for a job and on July 5 I began working
for a Public Utility District, was married 2 years later, had two children and
after 16 years in Washington divorced and moved
back to Loveland to be near family.
During our 25th class reunion I was approached by
Ruth Hite Case who told me we needed to help Frank Kauffman who was having a
hard time adjusting after a divorce. Ruth and I were graduates of the Bruce Fisher Divorce Seminar and were
"angels". I was an anonymous "helper angel" until he
became a graduate and realized we actually knew each other. Long
story...our friendship continued and blossomed into love. I'm so glad
Ruth insisted we help Frank!!
Q3 What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?
Frank and I fly fish with float tubes, travel with our 5th wheel, have 2
classic cars (57 Ford and 49 Ford) that we cruise and participate in car shows
throughout Colorado. We spend 5-6 months in the winter at Pebblecreek
Active Adult Community in Goodyear, Arizona
playing lots of golf, pickleball and taking part in other fitness and art activities.
Personal
narrative 2011:
Frank
and I have been married for 23 years with a blended
family of 5 children and 8 grandchildren who are the joy of our
lives. We have traveled all but 3 of the U.S. states, have gone on
several cruises, but our greatest accomplishment has been enjoying good health,
being best friends and approach life each day to the fullest, not knowing what tomorrow
will bring.
