Forty-five years is a long time to cover. I will just list some important events.

 

 - Graduated from CSU in August, 1965

 - Joined US Air Force in January, 1966

 - Married Sandy Meyer in April, 1966

 - Started pilot training same month

 - Daughter, Stacy, born in March, 1967

 - Graduated pilot training in May, 1967

 - Completed B-52 flying training and moved to Warner Robins, GA for first operational assignment

 - In summer of 1968, flew 42 bombing missions in Southeast Asia

 - Attended helicopter pilot training school in summer of 1969 in Witchita Falls, TX

 - Trained in HH-53 Jolly Green rescue helicopters in fall of 1969 at Eglin AFB, FL

 - From November, 1969 to October, 1970, flew combat rescue missions out of Udorn, Thailand

 - Moved to Hickam AFB, HI in October, 1970 and flew H-3 and HH-53 helicopters

 - Sons Andrew and Scott born in August, 1972 at Tripler Medical Center, Honolulu

 - Moved to Travis AFB, CA in October, 1974 and spent three years aa a C-5 and C-141 cargo aircraft Maintenance Supervisor

 - Daughter Jennifer born in May, 1975

 - In July, 1977, moved to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque,NM as an HH-53 instructor pilot

 - Checked out as an initial instructor pilot in new HH-53 PAVELOW in 1979

 - In May, 1980 after failed rescue mission in Iran, and on same day Mount St Helens blew, moved PAVELOW assets, lock stock and barrel to Hurlbert Field, FL

 - Spent next several months training pilots to try again

 - Moved family to Ft Walton Beach, FL in late August, 1980

 - Hostages released when Reagan won election

 - Continued flying until I got desk job as Executive Officer to Hurlbert Field Base Commander in 1985

 - Retired in March, 1987

 - Fished a lot and did some part time work until June, 1989 when started second career as an Instructional developer

 - Sandy died from cancer in October, 2000

 - Quit job at company in Pensacola to sort things out

 - 9-11-01 caused me to miss reunion (that's another story}

 - In March, 2002, went back to work part time at same company in Pensacola

 - Retired for good in March, 2004

 - On 20 May 2006, got together with all my kids for grandson Sean's high school graduation

 

Well, that is all for now. I hope to attend the 45th reunion. If that does not happen, have a great time anyway.
