Narrative;

 

Dear Classmates,

 

After high school I graduated from CSU with a degree in forestry and then Naval Officer Candidate School. I spent time in Vietnam in a riverboat squadron.  Marjie Burden (class of 1964) and I were married in 1969.  I returned to CSU to study Industrial Arts Education and student taught at LHS.  Marjie and I moved to Buena Vista, Co where we were both teachers.  We have lived in Buena Vista for 34 years and love our town at the base of the majority of Colorado's 14,000 ft peaks.  We are very involved with community affairs, spend time with Habitat for Humanity, and keep up with local environmental issues.  Our daughter Jamie has just received her Masters Degree in design and hopes to be a college professor.  Since teaching I have owned a cabinet shop and an art gallery.  I am presently a wood lathe artist showing my work in galleries across the country.  Life is good!  Interesting note- I took no art classes or shop classes at LHS.
