Q1    What are some of your positive and some of your negative experiences with modern technology?

I am an avid email user, but I really appreciate the old fashioned letters in the snail mail. I find the internet to be a wonderful tool where you can find information on almost anything for free.  I am a member of Facebook but do not use it or Twitter or Myspace.  Too bad there are so many destructive viruses out there, and we have to pay dearly for protection.  I rarely use my cell phone while driving and do not appreciate folks who do.

Q2    What are some of your most memorable experiences?

School Memories:  2nd through 6th grade I lived on Jackson Street along with several other classmates.  We had a great time riding bikes, roller skating, playing ball and climbing trees in the cemetery.

Winning 1st place on Rag Day in my freshman year.   Yes, I was the rear end of one of those dancing elephants.

Cruising 4th Street and Lincoln with Bettie Spall after Rainbow Girls meetings.

Palling around with friends Carla Warberg and Carolyn Haering.

I graduated from Parks School of Business in Denver in June 1962.

Other:  Mike and I were married in Hawaii in 1970.  We have one daughter, Andrea, and one grandson, Christian, who is a proud 1st grader. His mom has a B.A. in Speech Communication from CSU Fort Collins and a B.S. in Nursing from UNC Greeley.  We attended the Worlds Fair in 1982 in Knoxville, Tennessee and Expo 86 in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.   Each time we travelled by RV and enjoyed seeing the country along the way.  We took our first cruise in 2002 when we retired from Hewlett-Packard (39 years for me).  We have taken a few more cruises to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Alaska and have really enjoyed them.  We are planning to cruise the Panama Canal this fall.  Last summer Mike and I and our grandson, Christian, took a three week RV trip to Florida for Mike’s high school reunion.  We spent a week at the Disneyworld RV Park and toured Graceland on our way home.

Q3    What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?

We still own a 1957 Chevy and 1970 Mustang convertible.  We have had several cars and belonged to a few car clubs through the years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  We have taken RV trips through many states to various points of interest.  We hope to travel through all the states eventually.  We really enjoy camping right here in CO.  I belong to two Red Hat Society charters and play Mahjongg a couple times a month.  We spend as much quality time as possible with our wonderful grandson, Christian

Q4    What are some of the major changes in your life?

During my career at hp that began in Loveland, I transferred to Colorado Springs for 28 years; moved to Boise, Idaho for five years and returned to work at the Loveland and Fort Collins sites until retirement.  I have had two knee replacements and don't get around as well as I used to.  I am in good health and am thankful for that.
