Q1    What are some of your positive and some of your negative experiences with modern technology?

I started working at a bank in New Mexico in the 60's and ended working in a bank in April of this year and have seen massive changes in technology.  I liked the old ways. Even living in Alaska, remote location, worked in a bank and we did banking under very primitive conditions, and customers didn't suffer from the lack of computers. I have spent the last twelve years back in Washington working in a bank that was seized by the FDIC. I guess it was time to quit working.

Q2    What are some of your most memorable experiences?

I think some of the best years was living in Alaska, remote, and not really knowing what was going on in this world. All three kids graduated from school in Alaska.  Coming back to Washington I couldn't believe the changes in the world.  My husband and son would go back to Alaska in a heartbeat.  I have not traveled out of country and don't feel like I am missing anything.  Of course, my husband believes after being in Alaska, where else is there to go.  My two daughters have gone to school in Europe and my son was in the Marines and saw places out of country.  We have twenty acres here and built a house and moved last November.

Q3    What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?

So far--nothing.  After working most of my life, I truly don't do much but read books.  Maybe I will get a hobby but right now the days keep on rolling on.

Q4    What are some of the major changes in your life?

I am a cancer survivor and coping with the side effects of radiation sometimes makes me a crabby person. I got lymph edema in the abdomen and leg from surgery and radiation, bowel obstructions, had surgery to remove the damaged parts of small bowel and that took 7 months to heal the incision. Now there aren’t enough bathrooms for me to do much traveling. I also get infections that require a hospital.  But............I am still alive. I am sorry but I can't make it.  I am depending on Carolyn Shiveley to fill me in on her visit to Colorado.
