Q1    What are some of your positive and some of your negative experiences with modern technology?

I really don't get along with computers very well.  Thank God for my wife who steps in and helps me out!  Cell phones don't like me either.  I can call and receive calls, and text, but that's about all I need, anyway.

Q2    What are some of your most memorable experiences?

I spent 44 years in education.  I taught in Norwalk, CA, Loveland for 16 years, and in Covina, CA until I retired 2 years ago.  At the time of my retirement, I was in charge of the school's Guidance Room, where all the "bad" little 6th, 7th, and 8th graders were sent by their teachers.  I called their parents, and assigned appropriate discipline to the students.  My retirement was truly a very emotional and exciting event. I miss teaching a little.                                  We were in Loveland for two weeks this May, and I reconnected with former students and fellow teachers and old friends.  I saw my Great Niece graduate from high school also.

Q3    What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?

I do a lot of walking daily (up to 3 miles), and I ride my mountain bike 2 to 3 times a week.  I love to read, so bought a Nook and have read dozens of books on it.  Now that we're retired, we try to do lots of "family" things, and go places we could never seem to get to when we both worked.  I collect die cast cars of all sizes, especially hot rods and classic muscle cars.  I also collect die cast chopper motorcycles.

Q4    What are some of the major changes in your life?

Retirement!!  Lots of time to do things I never could before.  Since Linda is also retired, we can do so much together now.

Personal narrative 2011         We are coming back to Loveland on July 7th and will stay until after the 50th reunion.  I hope to be able to see a lot of my old high school friends during that time and spend a little time with them.  I am also looking forward to a get-together with many of my former students who still live in Loveland.  One of my former students that I got to see in May is arranging it.  My daughter, Rhonda is a real estate broker, and her husband, Larry works for G.E.  We currently live with them and two of our grandchildren, Shelby (18) and Riley (12).  Granddaughter, Brianna (20), lives on her own and works for Target.  Son, Shawn, his wife, Pam, and grandson, Greg (16), live in Ohio.  We plan to attend Greg's graduation next year.  Shawn works for Coca Cola.
