I DO authorize sharing all of this information on the Class of 1961 Web Site.

Q1    What are some of your positive and some of your negative experiences with modern technology?

Computers are definitely not my strong suit.  I am better at repairing a tractor than figuring out all the error messages on a computer.  The internet is fantastic for finding a repair part for old, old tools and machines.

Q2    What are some of your most memorable experiences?

Graduated from CSU with a B.A. in Chemistry.  Taught Chemistry for 3 years at Rock Springs, Wyoming high school.  Then went to work for 25 years at Allied Chemical's soda ash plant near Little America.  Began in the lab and became Lab foreman.  Later became a production foreman until retirement.

Bought land in Pinedale in 1981 and retired here from Green River to be able to hunt, fish, and raise cows.  We built our own log home and outbuildings without contractors.

Q3    What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?

I live to hunt and fish.  Have been bow hunting along with hunting with a rifle.  Usually have kids, grandkids and great-grandkids along.

Do some wood turning, furniture building and welding.

Sold our cows a few years ago and now put up grass hay for horse people.  Still have our own horses and occasionally pasture other horses.  I'm a canal commissioner.  In the winter drive snow plow for WYDOT and keep the neighbor's driveways clear.

Q4    What are some of the major changes in your life?

Major change is just getting a bit older and slower.  Have to figure out how to do things like lifting that I can't do as easily as I could when younger.  Use the front end loader on the tractor to do a lot of it.

Personal narrative 2011       won’t be able to attend the 50th because of conflict with the annual elk hunt.  On the 18th, my brother Eldon and his two boys, our son David and two grandsons and a friend or two will be here for the big event of the year - packing in on horseback to Coyote Lake for a week.
