Q1    What are some of your positive and some of your negative experiences with modern technology?

Modern technology is amazing in 50 years.  Most of us remember how cool we were with our first T.V.  I couldn’t live without my cell phone and like the video and texting features.  My grandchildren are amused I use texting because I don’t like my lap top computer or email.  I would rather hear a real voice and conversation.

Q2    What are some of your most memorable experiences?

Since high school I have travelled a lot and have met some amazing people, but these memories stand out.

·         Grade school and high school at LHS, especially cheerleading.

·         My brief radio career as a spinster librarian (named Blanche Bluniel) giving advice to call in teenagers on my husband’s radio show in Seattle – “Ask Blanche”.

·         Many European trips – celebrating our 25th July 14th Bastille Day Wedding anniversary on the Champs Elyse in Paris with our children.

·         Going to D.C. for a private tour of the White House at Christmas and getting to hold George W’s adorable dog, Barney

Q3    What fun activities/hobbies, etc. do you participate in?

I suppose travelling all the time, now taking grand children on our adventures, is how I spend a lot of my time.  I love to entertain, always redecorating and, of course, shopping.

Q4    What are some of the major changes in your life?

Going to Guam with my mother and sister for a marine reunion of Guam’s Liberation—meeting marines who were friends of our father and with him the day we were born and the day he was killed!

The greatest change in my life is after 48 years my husband is semi-retired and moved his office to our house.  It has taken several months for him to understand that I am not running a deli for his lunch orders--maybe I do need to spend more time starting to love my computer!!!
